Trabajos de informatización del Archivo de la Audiencia Nacional3000 informática at the VII Priego de Córdoba Electronic Archives Conference Acknowledging its relevance, 3000 informática will have two members of its Software & Support Department delivering a speech at the VII Electronic Archives Conference – to be held from November 9 to November 10 at Priego de Córdoba (Córdoba). The conference is jointly organized by the Priego de Córdoba City Council and the Universidad de Granada’s School of Information Science. The main issues to be discussed at the conference will be – primarily – both the terminological and technical implications of current normalization processes for contemporary archives. It is also one of the aims of the conference to encourage participants to freely exchange their ideas and experiences of the said processes – in the hope that practical, effective conclusions are thus drawn, from which real solutions for the problems posed by the former may be derived. One of those problems is the fact that the unstoppable process of archive normalization – be it ISO-based, or relying on other standards and/or regulations – greatly modifies accepted Information Science terminology. The rise of Information and Technologies (IT) as applied to everyday life – such as new electronic government services – is likewise forcing librarians and archivists as well to change their ways. "It seems therefore quite natural that 3000 informática engage with the discussions that will take place at the Priego de Córdoba Conference; as a leading provider of IT solutions and services, not only are we deeply committed to the development of new applications for integrated information management, but we are also determined to explore all the issues concerning the subsequent legal and terminological changes as well. It is in that spirit that María Martín Ibáñez and Ruth Martín Gutiérrez from our Software & Support Department will be delivering a speech November 9 at Priego de Córdoba's Victoria Theatre from 5 to 6 pm. The speech will be based on their paper "Normalized Environments for the Development of Applications for Information Management: A Case-Study in Archivo 3000." The paper's authors aim to discuss the wider issues of normalization processes in terms of our own integrated archive system Archivo 3000. |
